Saturday Snippet featuring Norma Marie
I watch as the afternoon sun hits the water just right, creating the perfect moment in time. Lifting my camera, I focus the lens and take the shot, plus several more. Sunsets are my favorite time of the day to capture on film. There’s something inspiring about the colors and beauty that comes from a perfectly captured sunset, especially on the water. I adjust my footing, kneeling to find the perfect shot and adjust my lens again. Using my camera has focused me, helping me find my happy place after years of not knowing if I could ever find it again, especially after everything Ethan put me through. Turn a…

Look out for Phantom by RJ Gray
I was suggested Phantom by a trusted friend. Having never read RJ Gray before I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. First, this is a series based on a community of ex military men. So I expected a lot of action. What I did not expect was the steam! And oh lawdy did Gray bring the heat in Phantom. Phantom is the first in the series and what a way to start off. The storyline appealed to me within the first couple pages. The characters are extremely relatable. I fell in love with Sam and Hudson. Their chemistry, not only in the sheets, was blazing. I hate that I…

Under His Guidance by Stacy Von Haegert
Once again Stacy Von Haegert has written a historical romance that kept my attention. This follows the life of Edward and Morgan. I am seeing a preference in how Von Haegert writes her female characters, strong and independent. Just the way I like the women in a story. I love how (so far) none of her females feel as though they have to follow society norms in the time period of the stories. Morgan is a little bit more compliant, but I gather that it is more due to her circumstances than to her true nature. I enjoyed diving into Under His Guidance and getting to be among that world…

Under His Protection by Stacy Von Haegert
I’m going to be very honest here. I do not usually read Historical Romance. It’s just not my cup of tea. So to say Under His Protection by Stacy Von Haegert caught me by surprise is an understatement. Von Haegert brought to life a beautifully written story. I loved her main characters and side characters. Greyland, the female main character, is unlike most historical females. She is free spirited, intelligent, outspoken, and quite the handful. I fell in love with her instantly. Never one to back down or turn the other cheek, she didn’t not conform to society. Honestly I think Greyland is the main reason I loved this book.…

My thoughts on Estuary by Rachel Blake & Amilia Quinn
Estuary is the third book in The Derivation Series. First let me tell you that this series is amazing and must be read in order to understand the full story. Estuary brings in more characters that I feel are going to be extremely important to the whole story. I can’t express how amazing the world building and character growth is in this series. There is heartache, love, loss, magic, and so much more to devour. I am willing to admit that I did devour this series and had been (impatiently) awaiting this book. I’m already begging for Book 4. I need closure. While I need that I also dread it. I…

Review: Need by Mandy L Woodall
Need is the book I didn’t know I needed. This book is smoking hot. Like call the fire dept cause it is going to burn your house down hot. Woodall holds no punches back with her first scene. So be prepared that you will need a few minutes to cool off. How this book escaped my attention in 2017 boggles my mind! Ryker and Bailey are two relatable characters who grab at your heartstrings. They are exquisitely written, well developed and their growth through out the book is impressive. The world of the Landry’s is idyllic and makes you want to be a part of it. I was totally taken…

Spotlight Author: A.M. Myers
I found A.M. Myers when I first started blogging and A.M. was just debuting her first book, Hopelessly Devoted. I have been with her ever since. Gotta support my home state people. You know gotta rep the 307. Lol. I have loved watching Myers career grow. So I am honestly honored that she agreed to be our Spotlight Author this week. I hope you enjoy getting to know about this MC author. What drew you to writing about an MC that helps troubled women? Well, they say write what you know. I wrote my very first book, Hidden Scars, from personal experience and the MC’s role in helping Emma…

Review: Brooks’ Bride by Darlene Tallman
Brooks and Hayley are fire. They burn up the pages of Brooks’ Bride by Darlene Tallman. The chemistry between the two main characters is like an inferno. Tallman has a way of making you keep turning the pages and forgetting what time it is. Tallman entices you with her words, making you fall in love with her characters. She breaks your heart, makes you laugh, makes you invested in her characters (both main and side). Tallman has an mesmerizing way of looping in characters that draws you in, making you need more. Darlene Tallman keeps upping her game with each book she writes. I can’t wait for her next book.…

Review: Ryker’ Challenge by Annie Taylor
This is a beautifully written paranormal/shifter romance. Annie Taylor is showing us that she has what it takes to bring paranormal to new heights. She put a twist on the shifter world that will totally blow you away and make you think to yourself, “Why wasn’t this done before?”. Everything you thought you knew goes right out the window. Taylor has flipped that script with this book. Taylor makes you fall in love with her characters, Ryker and Jade. Their personalities while similar are still very different. This couple makes you root for them, individually and as a couple. Ryker’s Challenge makes you realize that sometime things are easier when…

Review: Tainted Love: Austin by Livell James
Tainted Love: Austin is the first book I’ve read by Livell James. I wasn’t sure what to expect I was beyond impressed with the paranormal world he created. It’s a vampire world that I had yet to encounter and one I quickly became fascinated with. James took a new and unique approach to the vampire world. Austin is dealing with his life the best he can until his past collides into his future. His past that he has no recollection of. Yet now he must face it head on. Thankfully he isn’t alone on this journey. His past has brought Hayley to him in a way that neither of them…
