“He’s coming out. His driver just had the car come around. Are you ready?”
There was a grumble on the other end. “Ready?! I thought you said, you would think of something else?! We’ve been here two hours and you can’t come up with a better plan than this?!”
I rolled my eyes hearing Jason complain. What I was about to do was plan B which I had made in case I couldn’t think of a plan A. “Look I paid you, okay? Just get into place and do what you got paid for please. If he leaves and I don’t get paid, then I’ll gladly let Gerald know –”
“Fine!” Jason quickly cut me off. “But I won’t like it. Just try not to die, Elle.”
He hung up and I placed the phone back into my pocket. I, myself, hoped I wouldn’t die too, with what was about to happen. Running across to where I knew the car would be heading, I stood on the sidewalk as the cars passed by and pulled my phone out again. Unlocking the phone, I took a deep breath and sent a small prayer up to God.
I don’t know when Christoff got into the car, I only saw the white Mulsanne drive off and make a left towards me in order to turn onto the main road of Brickell Avenue. With the other pedestrians moving so quickly behind me, my heart skipped a beat as I watched in slow motion as the car approached.
Wondering where Jason was, panic shot its way through my veins and I glanced down at my phone to text Jason again, when suddenly I felt a firm hand on my back, followed by a hard shove forward.

I am running out of time and I need money to escape so when my prison boyfriend picked billionaire Christoff J. Meikle as our target, hacking into his network system is harder than it seems.
And I don’t have time to write a new program to bypass his state-of-the-art program.
With plan A out, plan B is a risky one. But one I had to take.
I pray, I don’t die.

Writing under the pen name Empress Chang, she is referred to as an overly dramatic, outgoing yet shy individual by her friends and family. Half Chinese Jamaican, Chang was born and raised in Jamaica. She then migrated to the United States of America, three years ago where she is still scared of driving on the other side of the road!
Writing stories about her dogs and princesses at a young age, Chang discovered romance books in high school and started writing her own believing that romantic happy ever after’s are necessary for a healthy and happy life.
She is a huge believer in the simple things in life, and her life’s main goal is to be happy. This includes sunny beaches and junk food (of course)!
When Chang is not writing, she is usually reading, watching a series that has hooked her attention and demands to be binged, or is spending time with her supportive, loving husband.

Lily Wes. The name alone sent a jolt through my body. Wes Jennings had been seventeen when he and his father moved next door to us. He had shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes and sported the beginnings of a mustache and facial hair. Throw in that he rode a motorcycle, and it only added to the reason he was my first crush at the tender age of thirteen. After that, I imagined he probably starred in many young girls’ fantasies […]
Mia looked at her reflection in the kitchen window, setting her frustration and nerves aside. She quietly headed into the living room, stopping at the door and taking in the sight of Zander tying his hoodie string sitting on the floor with his back to the couch. Nolan was in the same position next to him with a short length of rope in his hand. “Mr. Nolan, can you show me that again?” “Of course. Okay, you take the two […]
I showered and got dressed to meet my brother. But I had some time to kill so I went out onto my terrace. As I stood watching the sunset over Manhattan, I thought about taking some more vacation—just to cross off a few more items from my blind bucket list. But the truth was, it was too late. I was staring down a tunnel and all I got was a vague hint of orange and red in the cloudy center. The […]
About halfway through my shift, I saw the hostess seating a couple in my section. I couldn’t see them clearly, but I watched with envy as the man guided the woman through the restaurant with his hand on her lower back. At their table, he pulled the chair out for his date to sit down. It was a simple gesture, one I had never been on the receiving end of. Brad had never taken me out on a proper date. […]
Wow so there are really no words for the feelings as I just finished Bowie and Layla story. This is the first book in the series and honestly I am so excited for more… Layla is a single mom to a spunk of a kid named Sunny. And truly the kid had me cracking up. I hope to watch her grow up. But anyway, Layla and Bowie do not get off to the best of starts but watching them […]
“Are you telling me Killian Cross is on his way here right now?” She bites her lip and nods reluctantly. “Exactly how many times has Cross asked you out?” I ask. She wrings her hands together. “Twice. And it’s been months. We’re just good friends, not that it’s any of your business.” I see red. “Not my fucking business? Are you high? Everything about you is my business.” She backs up but it’s too late. In two steps I’m on […]
“This tie is something a mentor taught me. It’s pretty, it’s inescapable, and it’s safe. It won’t cut off your circulation. It’s tight enough where you feel it but loose enough it won’t cause any long-term issues. If you notice, baby girl, I’ve tied this knot here on the bottom and not the top.” She nodded, unsure why he was pointing it out. “If we were playing and you were being a brat and tried to escape from Daddy’s ties […]
Holy crumbs, I have goosebumps everywhere. Kade’s introductory speech punches me in the gut and fills me with so many feels that I’m struggling to swallow right now. I even caught Kevin wiping under his eye a moment ago. Ever since I saw the “Lack of Evidence” video, I haven’t been able to get LP-45 out of my mind, so the day after our dinner at the diner, I told Kevin I was thinking of collaborating with them and asked […]
I watch as the afternoon sun hits the water just right, creating the perfect moment in time. Lifting my camera, I focus the lens and take the shot, plus several more. Sunsets are my favorite time of the day to capture on film. There’s something inspiring about the colors and beauty that comes from a perfectly captured sunset, especially on the water. I adjust my footing, kneeling to find the perfect shot and adjust my lens again. Using my camera […]
