Apologies and WIP Wednesday featuring Carly Spade
First let me make my apologies. The last 3 months my oldest son has been severely ill, but the last two weeks have been the worst. Jman needed my time and attention more than MBB (go ahead and say it, “Duh, Kris.”) so WIP Wednesday and Snippet Saturday got put to the side. However, I am happy to say after a week stay in the hospital my son is almost 100% better. Now I can make up for making y’all wait. So today, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday I will be posting the amazing books and authors I had lined up. So I hope you stay turned in. Without further ado,…

Saturday Snippet featuring Avery Kingston
I showered and got dressed to meet my brother. But I had some time to kill so I went out onto my terrace. As I stood watching the sunset over Manhattan, I thought about taking some more vacation—just to cross off a few more items from my blind bucket list. But the truth was, it was too late. I was staring down a tunnel and all I got was a vague hint of orange and red in the cloudy center. The light at the end of my tunnel. The lyrics to Metallica’s “No Leaf Clover” rolled through my head. Normally I would have kicked up the tune and listened to it…

WIP Wednesday featuring Ann Edwards
Chapter 1 Zayn Ugh! I don’t remember ever partying as hard as we did last night. As soon as we got off stage, we started celebrating Tanner and Sofia’s engagement. Of course, it only got worse once Spotted Leopard joined in after their set. I am so glad we don’t have a concert tonight. I plan on spending the day sleeping this off. I get up and go to the bathroom. Grabbing a bottle of water from the mini-fridge, and popping a couple of pain relievers along the way. I no sooner get back in bed, getting comfortable, when I feel weight pressed against my back and an arm…

Saturday Snippet featuring Rachel Lyn Adams
About halfway through my shift, I saw the hostess seating a couple in my section. I couldn’t see them clearly, but I watched with envy as the man guided the woman through the restaurant with his hand on her lower back. At their table, he pulled the chair out for his date to sit down. It was a simple gesture, one I had never been on the receiving end of. Brad had never taken me out on a proper date. In the beginning, I was blinded by his charisma and good looks so I accepted whatever time he was willing to spend with me. Once I was pregnant, he knew…

WIP Wednesday featuring Katrina Marie
I’m not entirely sure what just happened. A moment ago, she was about to turn me down…I think. Actually, I’m sure she was going to say no. I know rejection when I see it. But something caught her attention. From the way her skin pales, it’s not a good thing. “Caroline?” Her eyes are wide when she turns in my direction. “He can’t see me here.” Then her cheeks turn a bright red. “Though that explains why he didn’t bother to pick up his son. Selfish son of a bitch.” She’s angry now. I don’t know what to do. Of all my time keeping drama out of the bar, I…

Saturday Snippet featuring JA Lafrance
“Oh my goodness, I am so sorry.” She says as her head slowly rises and her eyes connect with mine. Her blue eyes are like a beautiful sky on a sunny day. They are captivating. Her nose is cute, and her cheeks are full and suit her face perfectly. But, when my eyes meet her lips, I become hypnotized by the shape of them. I can’t tell if her upper lip is formed in the perfect heart shape or if her lipstick just makes it look that way. “It’s okay. I was just on my way to the bathroom. But I will gladly hold off if it means you keep…

WIP Wednesday featuring CJ Warrant
Brenna~ You know the last place I thought I’d be right now is bent over a ratty green couch being fucked in the back of a tattoo parlor on the south side of Chicago. I ignore Arnie, the tattoo artist slamming into me from behind. My attention is fixed on what’s between my fingers, a rusted blade coated in blow and my blood. As the tip digs deeper, piercing my thin skin of my inner wrist, I realize there is no turning back. No. There’s no turning back. The hell I call my life will cease to exist with one hard swipe of the blade and I’m glad for it.…

Saturday Snippet featuring Addict by Ivy Love
I watch as her face twists in confusion. “Why?” she asks. At this point, Jazz isn’t even trying to hide it anymore and is laughing outright. I can’t fight my smile either, she’s stunning, but right now she looks adorable. Her face is scrunched up and she looks like she’s trying to figure out an unsolvable math problem. “Why what?” A small scowl crosses her face, “You know exactly what I mean.” Jazz leans back, “I’m enjoying this so much right now. I told you so,” she taunts Liv. “Told me what?” “How you looked hot tonight and he was looking at you.” “Whatever,” Liv says. “Actually, she isn’t…

Excerpt Reveal : Tijan – Anti Stepbrother
Excerpt The sun shone into the room, and it took me a few moments to realize where I was. I didn’t recognize the king-size bed, or the black sheets, but then Caden walked past the open door and all the memories flooded into place. I slept at his place. I glanced around the bed… I slept in his bed! “Your alarm’s about to go off in ten minutes,” Caden called from the doorway. He had a cup of coffee in hand and wore only jeans. I tried to keep my eyes front and center, but I lost. The tattoos were a nice little zig-zag pattern, pulling my gaze down, all…
