🏒🏍Spotlight Author: Kristine Allen🏍🏒

I meet Kristine Allen at Wanderlust 2019 and instantly I loved her. She is such a magnetic personality that loves the same things I do. Friendly, sweet, sarcastic and a huge heart. So I was beyond ecstatic to do this interview with her. Some of you will be introduced to her for the first time and others will get to know her better.

  1. You started writing MC and then jumped to Rock Star Romance and have even dabbled in Hockey Romance, which is your favorite to write?

I’d say it’s a toss up between my MC and the hockey series. I’m a huge hockey fan, so those are near and dear to me, but my roots are with my MC. With the RBMC and their paranormal twist, they have been a blast to write.

  2. I love how your series all intersect at some point. Was this by design or just coincidence?

It was completely by design. As an avid reader myself, I love when I have past characters that crossover into another series, so I knew I would do that when I started.

  3. What is the most difficult part of your writing process?

Staying on task. I have ADD something fierce and while I joke about my squirrel moments, they are real and something I struggle with daily. During an average day, I tend to hop from one thing to another—much like a squirrel.

  4. What’s your favorite and least favorite part of publishing?

My favorite part is when I hear from my readers that one of my books hit them in all their “feels.” When each of my characters come to life to the extent that each successive character becomes the reader’s favorite.

Least favorite part is trying to time the edit with the formatting, with the release, to ensure I have enough time to make my preorder deadline.
  5. What is the hardest part of the book to write?

The wrap up after the conflict is resolved.
What characters in your books are most similar to you or to people you know?

LOL all of them. There is a tiny piece of me in every character, but probably Raiven from Lock and Load. She talks back, has a hard shell at times, but she loves fiercely.

  6. What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?

Music. Because of my ADD I need it to block out the stimuli around me or I’m easily distracted.

  7. What is the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?

Dont skimp on your editing. Also on covers, but editing is number one.

  8. When you’re writing an emotional or difficult scene, how do you set the mood?

I guess I imagine myself going through it and how my reactions would be to each situation.

  9. If you could be mentored by any author, who would it be?

I already had an amazing mentor in Sybil Bartel. She’s a wonderful person and I cannot thank her enough for all her help in the beginning. If I was to choose another person, I’d say Helena Hunting or Devney Perry.

Kristine Allen lives in beautiful Central Texas with her adoring husband. They have four brilliant, wacky, and wonderful children. She is surrounded by twenty-six acres, where her five horses, five dogs, and six cats run the place. She’s a hockey addict and feeds that addiction with season tickets to the Texas Stars. Kristine realized her dream of becoming a contemporary romance author after years of reading books like they were going out of style and having her own stories running rampant through her head. She works as a night shift nurse, but in stolen moments, taps out ideas and storylines until they culminate in characters and plots that pull her readers in and keep them entranced for hours.

🎧Review: Styx and Stones by Kristine Allen🎧

Kristine Allen does it again. Not only did she write a love story to end all love stories. She hired two amazing narrators, Kylie Stewart and Eric Rolon, to draw us in. WOW! Did that work. Eric is the perfect Styx. His voice is just gruff enough that you want to get closer. Kylie portrays Gwen perfectly. Both narrators make you want the story to continue. The emotions they convey are superb. The hawt AF scenes are even hotter with […]

If you are new to Kristine Allen, be prepared to hold on tight for this ride. Allen is known for her MC romance book but Angel pushes her from amazing to phenomenal. Taking a leap into the paranormal MC was just what she needed to do. Bringing her wicked insight into a new genre adds even more spice to her stories.   As always Kristine Allen sweeps in to her world with just her prologue. She makes your heart hurt, […]

Audible Review: Lock & Load by Kristine Allen

I have been a Kristine Allen fan for a while now. I have high expectations when it comes to anything that bares her name. Lock & Load surpassed those expectations. The story was fast paced, explosive and kept me on the edge of my seat. All of that before I got to listen to the audible. I’m new to reviewing for audibles. So I am trying to find the best way to express what I expect in an audiobook. I […]

Review: Hooking by Kristine Allen

Hooking is the first hockey romance by Kristine Allen. Anyone who has read Allen before knows she brings her books to life with every word she types and Hooking is no exception to that. Her first foray into a sports romance is, in my personal opinion, a huge success.  While MC favorites make brief appearances you find yourself totally entrenched into the hockey world. The chemistry between Alex and Sydney is explosive from the first meeting. Allen is able to […]
