🏒🏍Spotlight Author: Kristine Allen🏍🏒

I meet Kristine Allen at Wanderlust 2019 and instantly I loved her. She is such a magnetic personality that loves the same things I do. Friendly, sweet, sarcastic and a huge heart. So I was beyond ecstatic to do this interview with her. Some of you will be introduced to her for the first time and others will get to know her better.

  1. You started writing MC and then jumped to Rock Star Romance and have even dabbled in Hockey Romance, which is your favorite to write?

I’d say it’s a toss up between my MC and the hockey series. I’m a huge hockey fan, so those are near and dear to me, but my roots are with my MC. With the RBMC and their paranormal twist, they have been a blast to write.

  2. I love how your series all intersect at some point. Was this by design or just coincidence?

It was completely by design. As an avid reader myself, I love when I have past characters that crossover into another series, so I knew I would do that when I started.

  3. What is the most difficult part of your writing process?

Staying on task. I have ADD something fierce and while I joke about my squirrel moments, they are real and something I struggle with daily. During an average day, I tend to hop from one thing to another—much like a squirrel.

  4. What’s your favorite and least favorite part of publishing?

My favorite part is when I hear from my readers that one of my books hit them in all their “feels.” When each of my characters come to life to the extent that each successive character becomes the reader’s favorite.

Least favorite part is trying to time the edit with the formatting, with the release, to ensure I have enough time to make my preorder deadline.
  5. What is the hardest part of the book to write?

The wrap up after the conflict is resolved.
What characters in your books are most similar to you or to people you know?

LOL all of them. There is a tiny piece of me in every character, but probably Raiven from Lock and Load. She talks back, has a hard shell at times, but she loves fiercely.

  6. What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?

Music. Because of my ADD I need it to block out the stimuli around me or I’m easily distracted.

  7. What is the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?

Dont skimp on your editing. Also on covers, but editing is number one.

  8. When you’re writing an emotional or difficult scene, how do you set the mood?

I guess I imagine myself going through it and how my reactions would be to each situation.

  9. If you could be mentored by any author, who would it be?

I already had an amazing mentor in Sybil Bartel. She’s a wonderful person and I cannot thank her enough for all her help in the beginning. If I was to choose another person, I’d say Helena Hunting or Devney Perry.

Kristine Allen lives in beautiful Central Texas with her adoring husband. They have four brilliant, wacky, and wonderful children. She is surrounded by twenty-six acres, where her five horses, five dogs, and six cats run the place. She’s a hockey addict and feeds that addiction with season tickets to the Texas Stars. Kristine realized her dream of becoming a contemporary romance author after years of reading books like they were going out of style and having her own stories running rampant through her head. She works as a night shift nurse, but in stolen moments, taps out ideas and storylines until they culminate in characters and plots that pull her readers in and keep them entranced for hours.

🐺Spotlight Author: Theresa Hissong🐺

I was introduced to the writing of Theresa Hissong in 2019 at a book signing. I was talking about how I had never read a shifter book. A volunteer there told me I had to read Theresa Hissong’s Talon. I took her up on her suggestion and devoured Talon. I had the pleasure of meeting Theresa the next month at a different signing. I literally ran to her table first so that I could get a signed copy before she […]

I have been waiting to post this interview since I met this author. Kara Leigh Miller reached out to me from the blog for a review. She was and a couple months later I was able to sit down and start book 1 of her […]

I have had the pleasure of meeting Teri Kay. Such a sweet and genuine person. Fun to hang out with and an extremely talented writer. Interviewing her was so much fun. But my co-workers know and I’ve even given my principal a book! What, for you, has been the best part […]

Having read Courtney Lynn Rose is like entering so many new amazing worlds. I met Courtney like I do with so many authors, through Facebook. I am so excited to bring you into her world. Being an author is quite a journey, what lead you down this path? What have you gained from that journey? I started writing when I was around ten. During the early teenage years, I attempted poetry because you know, I thought I had so much […]
