Welcome to Valhalla
When Navy SEAL, Hudson “Phantom” McGhee, is forced to medically retire, he finds himself with nothing but time and a large family inheritance. The mountains beckon to him, and he followed them home to Colorado. Purchasing thousands of acres of land, he is determined to create an escape for injured warriors and a community for veterans, who, like him, are trying to figure out what is next.
What he wasn’t expecting was the feisty, red headed nurse, Samantha O’Riley. The youngest charge nurse in the Emergency Department’s history, Sam is a no-nonsense, take-charge type of woman who has no interest in military men, they are not her kind. She and Hudson clash from the very beginning.
When a violent drug cartel targets Samantha, she finds herself under the protection of Hudson. Soon, his protection is not the only thing she is under.
The veterans of Valhalla rush to protect Sam and their community. Will Samantha find herself falling for Hudson after all? Or will she walk away?

I was suggested Phantom by a trusted friend. Having never read RJ Gray before I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. First, this is a series based on a community of ex military men. So I expected a lot of action. What I did not expect was the steam! And oh lawdy did Gray bring the heat in Phantom.

Phantom is the first in the series and what a way to start off. The storyline appealed to me within the first couple pages. The characters are extremely relatable. I fell in love with Sam and Hudson. Their chemistry, not only in the sheets, was blazing. I hate that I can’t give it all away. I want to talk about this book.

I will say that reading Phantom has me diving into RJ Gray’s backlist and into this series in particular. Gray’s ability to pull you into the story makes every second spent in her world well worth it. I highly recommend this book. So if you’re having a hard time deciding what to read, make sure you grab Phantom.
