Sidekicks! Exactly what this world needs…

Most people don’t know but I grew up in Wyoming and most of my younger years were lived in a town called Rock Springs. The only reason I am bringing that up is that I returned to Wyoming in May and while visiting friends in Rock Springs I was introduced to an amazing place, Sidekicks.

Sidekicks is a book and wine bar in old downtown Rock Springs on Broadway. This is a new start up business so the staff is just learning about the business of books. All the wine is from Jackson Hole Winery. You can enjoy it with a cheese platter. Sit around, have a drink, a sweet dessert and just relax with an amazing book. All books are for sale.

My bestie, Sherrie, myself and the rest of our little tribe went in after having dinner at Broadway Burgers. And to say I was impressed is an understatement. Rock Springs has never had something that was so sophisticated and classy yet warm and welcoming. The staff were super nice and helpful. And amazingly were not annoyed when my two little monsters were all over.

Honestly, the whole atmosphere makes me hope and pray that Sidekicks becomes a main stay in Rock Springs. They have everything you could ask for book wise. I was actually pleasantly shocked to find many of my favorite authors in there. My boys (11 & 9) were able to find books that they really wanted (and got).

Sidekicks is working on getting authors in to do signings. Local author Jen Atkinson was there for the ribbon cutting. This is what Atkinson had to say about Sidekicks,

“Sidekicks is a fun, unique night out for all book lovers. They have an assortment of decadent desserts to savory cheese plates, all to indulge in while you take in one of their many many books!”

They have rooms that can be used for book clubs or even private reading for when you just want to vanish into a book.

You can find Sidekicks at 507 Broadway in Rock Springs, WY. They are open Monday – Thursday from 11:00 am – 9:00pm and Friday- Saturday from 11:00 am – 10:00pm. You can find them on Facebook HERE.

This is probably not the the last time you will hear me talk about Sidekicks. I fully believe that every town needs a Sidekicks.
